Morty
Morty is the owner of Salon Red. A stylist who loves his craft, Morty spends a lot of his time making sure clients are ecstatic about their time at Salon Red, the staff is passionate about their clients, and the salon supports both client and staff needs.
Morty's favorite moments are when he hears someone say "That was wonderful!" and "Thank-you so much! I feel/look so much better!". Apparently, he is a very content person after each day at Salon Red.

Amy
Amy was born and raised in Maryland. She lived in San Francisco, Ca
for 6 years. She moved back to Maryland in November of 2000. She
graduated from the Hair Expression Academy in 2002. She has attended
the 2007 Redken Symposium, was part of Tigi ambassafor program, as
well as the Alterna MD State Representative Program. She has attended
numerous hands on color and cutting classes.
Amy's passions include color, multi-dimensional blondes, and
encouraging guests to experience new looks. She also specializes in
haircutting, styling, relaxers, product knowledge, and how guests can
complete their looks at home. She loves consultations, listening to
her guests wants and needs. She aims to give excellent customer
services and an experience to remember.

Barbara
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Barbara has been in the beauty industry
since 1991. She is a leader in our education program.
Her specialties include fine hair, special occasion hair, and she is a
certified Racoon extensionist.

Belinda
Belinda has been a hair stylist at Salon Red for 7 years. She is a
certified how colorist and a senior cosmetologist. She has completed
classes with Tigi Hair Academy and reken Academy in New York.
Belinda loves doing color (especially blondes!). She spends a lot of
time learning all she can about color. She also enjoys the challenges
of men’s cuts and has experience with special occasion hair styling.

Brooke
Born in Cumberland, Maryland, Brooke comes to Salon Red from The
Temple, A Paul Mitchell Partner School, located in Frederick.
She is Participating in our Associate Program, under the guidance of
Barbara and Tom. Her goal is to be on the floor February 1, 2009!
She is excited to be a part of Salon Red.

Carolyn
Carolyn was born in Montgomery County, Maryland. She attended the
Graham Webb Academy and has attended several advance color and cutting
classes in New York and the local area. She has also participated in
hair and fashion shows.
Carolyn's passion is color, making use of her advanced training!

Charo (Speaks Spanish)
Charo was born and raised in Peru, South America. She attended the
Aesthetic Cosmetology School and has taken color classes from Goldwell
and Redken. Charo has also taken an advanced Redken color class in New
York. She has also taken a Keratin treatment class.
Charo enjoys doing color and perms!

Christie
Born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Christie was raised
in Germantown. She attended The Temple School, a Paul Mitchell Partner
Cosmetology School. She is also certified in Racoon Hair Extensions.
Christie has also taken a class on the Keratin Complex Hair Therapy
Treatment.
Christie enjoys all hair services with color and relaxers being her favorites!

Faye (Speaks Farsi)
Faye was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She received her diploma from Hadaf High School, in Tehran. She has training in make-up application.
Fayes speciality is designing eyebrows through the art of threading.

Joe
Born in Fez, Morocco and raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Joe was
trained by the Studio of Hair Concepts. He has taken classes from
Redken, Sassoon, Sebastian, Toni & Guy, Cabella, Trevor Sorbie, and
many, many more!
Joe is an easy going master designer who having been a salon owner for
20 years, is now back to doing what he loves most, hair.

Li-Sann
Li-Sann is a Master Esthetician and a Registered nurse who has
practiced skin care for over 14 years. She was born in Manchester,
England and grew up in Jamaica. She has completed hundreds of hours
of post graduate speciality training and is also a certified
reflexologist.
Li-Sann specializes in microdermabrasion and chemical peels as well as
a wide variety of preventative and corrective skin treatments.

Rania (Speaks Arabic)
Rania was born and raised in Lebanon and immigrated to the United
States in 1991. She graduated from Aspen Hill Beauty Academy in 1993
and has received training from many great designers including Redken,
Bumble & Bumble, Jacques Desange, Vidal Sasson, and Paul Mitchell.
Rania loves designing, cutting coloring and finishing hair! Her
specialties include perms, Keratin Hair Therapy, Special occasion
hair, and she is great with curly hair.

Rena (Speaks Mongolian and Chinese)
Rena was born and grown up in Inner Mongolia. She graduated from Inner
Mongolia Normal University where she received B.S. in Geography. She
immigrated to the United States in 1995, attended the Cosmetology
Academy of Philadelphia became a licensed Nail Technician in1996.
After 10 years of excellent nail services she went on to Yvonne De
Vilar Scientific Skin Care Institute in Virginia and became a licensed
Esthetician. She has received several post graduate certifications
through the International Dermal Institute and G.M Collin Skin Care.
Rena specialized in Forever French Acrylic nails, facials and hard waxing.

Rob
Rob was born in Connecticut, grew up in the town of Westport, and has lived in many parts of the country, including Memphis, TN, and Reno, NV. He moved to Maryland in 1989, and graduated from the Potomac Massage Training Institute, with course work in Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology. He has National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and Level I and Level II Connective Tissue (Myofascial) Massage, belongs to the National Massage Therapy Association, and is certified and licensed by the State of Maryland.
Rob loves to do personalized sessions geared towards the specific needs of clients. Starting with a consultation prior to a massage, Rob will build off the basic Sweedish (relaxing or therapeutic) or Deep Tissue massages, incorporating his prior training as a physical therapy aide to create sessions that are both relaxing & therapeutic and result in more elasticity, with greater ability to move freely with decreased pain and stiffness.

Theingi(Pronounced "Thing-gee") Speaks Burmese
Theingi's cosmetology career began in 2004 at Hair Expression Academy.
She the continued her training right here at Salon Red. Under Tigi's
classic cutting foundations and advanced Redken color Theingi has
accumulated various talents. In addition to the foundations of
hairstyling, Theingi offers Milbon Japenese Thermal Relaxing and
Straightening.
Theingi loves to cut short textured hair, mens cuts, and unique
hightlight/coloring techniques.

Thi (Pronounced T), Speaks Vietnamese
Thi was born in Vietnam and completed 2 years of college earning a
degree in engineering there. She loves science! Thi immigrated to the
United States in 1990 and studied esthetics and has been an
esthetician for over 7 years. She is currently training to be a
massage therapist and will graduate in 2008.
Thi loves to use her expertise to do facials and soon, massages!

Tom (Speaks Vietnamese)
Tom was raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He attended the University
of Maryland, Baltimore County, and graduated with a B.S. in
Information systems management. He attended cosmetology school at the
Graham Webb Academy in 2003 and is now our artistic director.
Tom's specializes in cuts and colors!
